Hubspot's 'The Science of Email Marketing' Webinar.

Hubspot's Dan Zarrella presented a very interesting Webinar about the Science of Email Marketing on February 10, 2011.

The conclusions they have reached are based on the hard data gleaned from over 9.5 billion (yup that billion, with a "b") emails from Mailchimp. Here are a few key points:

  • The best time to send is weekend mornings.
  • Use lots of links.
  • Send email from someone they’ve heard of or an associated "celebrity"
  • Serialize the mailings so subscribers will expect its arrival
  • Never be afraid to send too many emails.
